The Palm Beach Post was put on lockdown this morning following a scare with a suspicious package.
Around 11:45 a.m. firefighters and HAZMAT teams were called into action at the paper’s building at 2700 S. Dixie Highway.
There were reports that the doors were shut, the elevators locked, and employees saying they didn’t feel well. Some were reportedly hiding.
The package reportedly contained white powder. Turns out, the white powder was just Tylenol.
According to West Palm Beach Fire Rescue spokesman Allan Ortman, HAZMAT crews quickly determined that the white substance found was acetaminophen, which is a pain reliever commonly known as Tylenol.
The 20 or so people who were exposed to the Tylenol are showing no signs or symptoms of being ill.
HAZMAT crews have cleared the area.
