Fashion is an interesting being. It’s not just shoes or clothes or even an attitude. It’s a spectacle, so much so that it’s not a sale that will do it justice but a show. Fashion shows seem almost outer-worldly in our South Florida speck, but the Midtown Art Gallery is bringing the big-time spectacle to Fort Lauderdale with The Initiation — Theatrical Fashion Show & Art Exhibition.
The Initiation is special and geared toward individuality — it’s that chance to wear the big outfit you thought would never work in a normal room. Event Creative Director Elouinia Exantus explains this show as “a new era of fashion, art, music, poetry, healthier eating, dance, and all-around creativity.” Art, music, jewelry, and fashion will be plentiful and varied, but all with one thing in common: outside-of-the-box thinking. A revolutionary way to approach the same old. This is a space to step in and be grandiose while simply being a viewer and watching the magic unfold.
