Sure, we have great beaches filled with tons of attractive — and not-so-attractive — people. And yeah, we get sunshine almost 365 days a year — if you don’t count the half hour of rain at 3 p.m. on a summer’s day. Even so, we may recognize ourselves for our ability to party well beyond the month of spring break. Do you know of any other cities with “Liquordale” in the title? The answer is no. Even with all of these crowning accomplishments, South Florida is best-known for two things: perfect winter weather and seafood. Get a taste of both at the third-annual Riverwalk Stone Crab & Seafood Festival, presented by Grille 401.
Taking place on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Esplanade Park, the event will feature seafood bites from a number of local restaurants, including Bimini Boatyard, Bravo Ristorante, Downtowner Saloon, Grille 401, Indigo Room, Kelly’s Landing, Key West Seafood, Lauderdale Grill, Nacho Bizness, OB House, Southport Raw Bar, and Tarpon Bend. It is free and open to the public, but food will be available for purchase. Esplanade Park is located at 400 SW Second St. in Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-468-1541, ext. 205, or visit goriverwalk.com.

Sat., Jan. 11, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., 2014
