Burger 21, the Tampa-based fast-casual burger and shake joint that features 21 different hand-crafted burgers made from 100-percent certified Angus beef, is expanding to South Florida.
The restaurant chain, founded by the owners of The Melting Pot, has just announced the signing of two multi-franchise agreements in Florida, bringing seven new restaurants to Florida in the next few years.
Cities slated for expansion include Fort Lauderdale, Coral Springs, Davie, and Pembroke Pines.
To date, Burger 21 has six locations in Florida, mainly in the Orlando
and Tampa areas, with 18 additional franchise locations in development
along the east coast.
In addition to hand-crafted burgers, Burger 21 has a large
assortment of offerings for pescatarians, vegetarians, and people on
gluten-free diets. Choices include an ahi tuna burger, a Thai shrimp
burger, two different veggie burgers, and salads.
People on gluten-free diets are offered an entire menu of
options, which was designed in cooperation with the Gluten Intolerance
Group.
Burger 21 also offers shakes and old-fashioned ice cream
floats. No word yet exactly when and where the first south Florida
location will pop up. Stay tuned for details.
Here are some Burger 21 burgers talking..and accusing each other of cannibalism (would it then be called burgerism?):
