A weekend in Orlando. Sunburn. An hour long wait for the new Seven Dwarves ride at Magic Kingdom, and one too many turkey legs. What you could use right now is a cold Funky Buddha.
You’re in luck, because Funky Buddha beer is officially launching in Orlando on June 11. The beer is available in nearly two dozen restaurants and bars in Central Florida, including quite a few in the theme park area, including the Hilton Orlando Resort and the Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal.
Brand director John Linn tells Clean Plate Charlie that although Funky Buddha has limited distribution for major events in Orlando, this is the first major push of the South Florida beer to the Central Florida market. “The main factor has been supply. We’ve barely kept pace with demand in the South Florida and Treasure Coast area until now. With new equipment arriving daily and the expansion underway, we are able to produce enough beer to expand our reach a little further across the state. Every step we make is cautious because we’re always concerned about supply, especially here in South Florida.”
