The Super Bowl has come and gone, and in the aftermath, most of us are a little bleary-eyed from the excitement.

With the big game behind us for one more year, the task now is to analyze everything from Katy Perry’s shark-infested choreography to what scored the most points.

Though there were some major downers (like Nationwide’s ad that features a dead kid lamenting on what he’ll never do), there were some upbeat moments like the Coca-Cola ad that turns the tables on internet trolls.

Hands down, however, McDonald’s scored a touchdown with its ad — and subsequent promotion — that asks people to pay their lunch tab with kindness.

The commercial, which shows people calling their mother and hugging their family in exchange for a Big Mac, kicks off a two-week-long promotion in which randomly selected individuals will be asked to do something nice in exchange for the fast food giant picking up their tab.

All you have to do is walk into a South Florida McDonald’s anytime until February 14 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and order your food at the counter. If you’ve been randomly selected, a restaurant manager will alert you and give you the option to play along with a choice of lovin’ things to do (selfies, hugs, fist bumps, and high-fives are all options). You’ll also have to actually stop into your local McDonald’s, because the offer’s not good at the drive-through.

Of course, you’re encouraged to share the love on social media at @McDonalds and @McD_SouthFla.

While some people might cynically consider this just another marketing strategy, why not take it at face value and just do something nice in exchange for a free order of fries? After all, couldn’t we all use some actual happiness with our Happy Meal?
