The rich, ganja-fied voice of Ky-mani Marley — one of the many singing offspring of Bob Marley — fills the void left by the death of his iconic father. (The watered-down pop stylings of his half brother Ziggy, favored by undiscriminating members of the Abercrombie & Fitch frat-boy set, only make the patriarch’s absence more painful.) The son of Bob and a Jamaican table-tennis champ, 25-year-old Ky-mani grew up in Miami; strangely the Marley clan didn’t throw much support behind his musical career until his debut album, The Journey , blew up big in 1999. Last year’s Many More Roads stays satisfyingly close to the rootsy, rock-steady reggae that made his father, well, a legend.
