One of the things that we tend to forget with “modern” hip-hop is the sheer amount research that goes into lyrical work. Like anything, there are varying degrees of interest involved in the final output. Orion’s been a busy bee. It’s possible that this young man’s gonna burn himself out, but something tells me he’s got stamina — intellectually and methodically. He’s surrounded himself with like-minded individuals who match his energy level.

I liken this to when I first held my hands on my N.W.A.’s Straight Outta Compton double-LP or Wu-Tang’s Enter the 36 Chambers. Orion produces this track for Frantik and Gamblez and lends the closing verses for the track. I can’t wait to hear more from these provocative songsmiths!

This is music that transcends cultural and musical leanings, and they get huge props for tackling the ever-so-controversial topic of religion. I’m getting a really good Kool Keith vibe here, and I hope you enjoy it for its awesomeness, regardless of your religious leanings. Art’s meant to challenge and provoke discourse, not hate. So let’s talk!
