The annual Rib Round Up features today’s top country stars and, you guessed it, lots and lots of ribs. Headliners Rodney Atkins, Joe Nichols, and Craig Morgan boast a slew of chart-toppers and a devoted legion of fans and followers.
This, then, is Nashville’s newest generation of certified superstars. Nichols has accumulated 14 Top 40 hits on the country charts, including the expertly titled staple “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off.” U.S. Army vet Morgan vies for the second best title with “Redneck Yacht Club,” one of 17 country hits he’s accumulated to date. As for Atkins, his big breakthrough came in 2006 with If You’re Going Through Hell, which spawned four hit singles. Unless you’re a vegetarian, a better alternative would be hard to come by.
