UPDATE: According to the Tallahassee Democrat, Winston may have not been cited or arrested, conflicting with the Tomahawk Nation report, although they only cite the Tallahassee Police Department.

The Tallahassee Police Twitter feed says the “TPD has NOT had any contact with Jameis Winston regarding an alleged recent citation”

UPDATE 2: According to Tomahawk Nation, Winston is going to be suspended from the FSU baseball team and fined $30, as well as be required to do community service.

Meanwhile, the The Leon County Sheriff’s Office is scheduled to hold a 2:00 p.m. press conference to clear everything up.

Original post: Florida State University star quarterback Jameis Winston has been cited for shoplifting crab legs from Publix.

According to FSU blog Tomahawk Nation, the national-championship-winning QB was issued a citation on Tuesday for ganking some crab legs from the grocery store.

This coming on the heels of Winston’s being investigated — but never charged — for alleged rape, as well as on an announcement by the NCCA that student athletes are now allowed unlimited meals.

Late last year, Winston was the focus of accusations by a Tallahassee woman that he had raped her.

In November, authorities revealed that DNA that matched the FSU star quarterback had been found in a sample taken from the underwear of his accuser.

But in December, State Attorney Willie Meggs announced that Winston wouldn’t be charged. An investigative report by the New York Times this month revealed that the Winston sexual assault case may have been compromised by the botched efforts of the Tallahassee Police Department.

There were even accusations from the alleged victim’s family that investigators tried to persuade her to drop the case because it would make life for her difficult, insinuating that the Seminoles’ star player would never been charged by local cops.
