UPDATE: Valle was declared dead at 7:14 p.m.

No thanks to the Miami Herald, everyone thinks South Florida cop killer Manuel Valle is dead.

He’s not — yet.

Department of Corrections spokeswoman Jo Ellyn Rackleff told the Pulp at 5:06 p.m. that Valle’s execution was delayed pending approval of the U.S. Supreme Court.

The Herald announced Valle was dead on Twitter at 4:11 p.m., which the paper has since deleted, along with the story published on its website.

The Palm Beach Post also decided to regurgitate the Herald‘s fictional version of events before yanking that one in favor of an Associated Press piece saying the execution was scheduled for 4 p.m.

Check back with the Pulp for updates about the actual execution.
